Slow recording? Clean Up Your PC

A lot of readers have been emailing me asking why their computers are slow when recording -- and many, especially Pro Tools users, cite a slowdown in processing and the inability to bounce. Maybe you should prep your computer!

While most professionals' studios are using recording-only dedicated computers, many home studios don't have that luxury. Check out this article on maximizing your computer power!

A quick way to speed up your PC during recordings is to switch off unnecessary Windows processes. You can even disable your anti-virus when you are making recordings. If you not going to be on the Internet, you can even go further and switch off firewall program all together
