Reader Question: Micing a Guitar Amp
Saturday March 22, 2008
A reader recently emailed and asked a great question: how can I get great guitar amp tone with only one mic?
It's not hard at all! Check out this popular tutorial: micing a guitar amp. Personally, I refer a Shure Beta 57 when doing only one microphone -- it's bright, punchy, and gives a nice rounded tone. If you've got one, a ribbon mic works well, too. Good luck!
