I've recently gotten back into doing live two-track recording using ambient microphones. It's a relatively easy way to get a recording that really sounds great -- and it gets you into the action by allowing you to listen in true stereo fidelity.
Many of my readers record in stereo with a pair of microphones in the field, and I'd like to hear from you. What's your favorite mic techniques for live recording? Personally, I love my Earthworks SR30 used in ORTF configuration for almost all live recording. I'm also a big fan of mid-side recording, as well.
