Yamaha has announced the retirement of the PM-1D digital console -- a staple for audio engineers worldwide since it's introduction. Working musicians have long appreciated the PM-1Ds relative value in the world of digital mixing, while engineers have loved the ease of use and sound quality.
> The PM-1D is the board that many of us engineers used as our first introduction to digital consoles for live sound -- and while it's sad to see it go, Yamaha has announced plans, via a white paper available on their website, for the next generation of digital consoles.
The PM-1D orders currently on file will be filled, and the PM-5D will continue to be available.
