As a skilled and in-demand live sound engineer, Joe's work has taken him world wide -- from mixing at major North American music festivals to one-off shows overseas, with major label and indie artists alike. As a studio engineer, Joe has several engineering credits (specializing in live recording, and is a voting member of the Recording Academy (GRAMMY Awards), and a member of the GRAMMY Producers & Engineers wing.

Joe's recording work is diverse; mixing and recording freelance projects with music industry, corporate, and government clients has taken him to extremes far outside his home mixing studio -- from recording tree frogs in rural Iowa to capturing the deafening roar of a space shuttle launch in stunning high-definition audio.

As a freelance writer, aside from writing for the New York Times Company's About.com, Joe is a contributing writer for EQ Magazine.

Education:

Joe has education in audio and electrical engineering from Louisiana Tech University and Southern Illinois University.
